2. Job ID 001 ASSISTANT CAMP DIRECTOR

Responsible To: Camp Director

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience or study in teaching, child psychology, education or related field. Successful experience in working with children. Education or experience with outdoorskills program. Must be responsible, professional, patient, and flexible. Experience with children having behavioral, social, and/or anger related problems.

Duties And Responsibilities:

1. Understand and irnplement the philosophies of Camp New Horizons.

2. Assist the Camp Director in discharging his/her responsibility for the campers, staff, and facility operations.

3. Assist the Camp Director in the implementation the Camp New Horizons Safety Plans submitted to the Cattaraugus County Health Department.

4. Assist in the daily programs offered by Camp New Horizons.

5. Assist Camp Director in evaluation, documentation and all required reporting.

6. Act as the Fire Coordinaor for Camp New Horizons and implement all safety plans accordingly.

7. Assist the Camp Director in preparation and facilitation of the in-service training.

8. Will be on-site for the duration of the Camp New Horizons Program including the week of in-service except for scheduled days off.

9. Perforn other duties on request.

10. Must understand and maintain confidentiality at all times.

3. Job ID 002 CAMP MEDICAL DIRECTOR

CAMP MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Education And Experience: Registered Nurse, Physician’s Assistant or AEMT with current certification in New York State. Must hold CPR-C current certification and meet all criteria for Children’s Camps in the State of New York. Interest in working with children. Proven ability in crisis situations.

SUPPORTIVE COUNSELORS

Education And Experience: Experience with children in a proffessional capacity (ie., teaching, counseling, or related). Outdoor education and experience is desireable. Leadership qualities and staff management experience are helpful.

5. Job ID 004 COUNSELORS

UNIT COUNSELORS

Education and Experience: Must be at least 18 years of age with education and/or ongoing study in psychology, childcare, teaching or related field.

-OR-

At least 18 years of age and has completed a training course in camping and supervision of children, which is acceptable to the County Health official issuing the camp permit.

Must have an interest in working with children who have behavioral , social, and/or anger management problems. Knowledge of nature and camp crafts helpful. Personal integrity, self-discipline, patience, flexibility, stamina, and good physical health are a must.
